The Touro Park Inn a Newport bed and breakfast inn was designed by George Champlin Mason, a noted local architect. This Newport bed and breakfast lodging was featured in his book Newport and its Cottages while owned by Catherine Lorillard Wolfe. The grande dame of society made her home here prior to building her mansion Vinland, now part of the Salve Regina University campus. The Newport Rhode Island Inn was part of fashionable lodging accommodations during the turn of the century. You'll receive a preview of the Newport Mansions during the Gilded Age as you look through the memorabilia in our Portrait Room, and see the original Newport home of Elizabeth Drexel Lehr's portrait, done by the noted society artist Giovanni Boldini.

The Portrait Room is filled with family memorabilia from Elizabeth Drexel Lehr, author of Harry Lehr and the Gilded Age. Peruse the history of Newport through the collection of maps, photos and books that depict life as it used to be.

The Newport Rhode Island Inn is decorated with period antiques and reproductions. Beds are furnished with luxury linens to enhance your visit at the Newport Rhode Island Inn.

Whether you visit for the beach, a stroll along the harborfront, or to enjoy the spendor of yesteryear, the Touro Park Inn offers a convenient location to enjoy your stay at the Newport Rhode Island Inn!
